Quotes from Abraham Lincoln

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence.

You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

~ Abraham Lincoln

  2. I have read and admired Abraham Lincoln all my life. I have heard the C*** about his sexuality,(where did that come from? take a guess!) I have also read that his politics were not perfect at times and sometimes things just kind of fell in to place for him, but his visions and desires for america were over the top. Which is what made him great and admired. But alot of kids would not even know he existed if he wasn't on a penny or a $5.00 bill
by 3rd grade if i could not basically tell you who Abraham Lincoln was Sister Mary Martin would have had me wishing i was fighting in the civil war than having to face her!
